Just kidding, I didn't give A.J. a black eye. First, you have to understand that he does not visibly bruise. This is probably the third bruise I have seen on him. Ever. He's had a combat class in the afternoons for the last two weeks and had his final on Friday. He got sprayed in the face with pepper spray and then had to do 10-15 minutes of specific take-downs, ending with a two-minute fight with a guy in the full-body foam padding suit who beats on you as hard as he can. That's the sort of thing required to make a bruise show up on him. As well as a popped blood vessel in his eye. He did great, though. A couple guys basically assumed the fetal position after the pepper spray. Then he came home and used half a bottle of baby wash to get it all off his face. :)
